  • How to make strategic planning work better

    Participants will learn how to make their strategic planning effort more effective and efficient. Discussion topics will include: what makes strategic planning important; when is the right time for a strategic plan; how the “audience” for the plan drives the process and final product(s).


    Doug Mah, Owner, Doug Mah & Associates

    Doug MahDoug Mah is the owner of Doug Mah & Associates, a management and public affairs consulting firm. His clients include public, private and nonprofit organizations. Doug is active in his community and serves on the board of directors for the Washington State Employees Credit Union, Capital Medical Center, South Puget Sound Community College and Gateway Rotary Club of Thurston County. Doug served on the Olympia City Council between 2001 and 2011, including one term as Mayor between 2008-2011. Doug also enjoyed a 23-year career in State Government (1989 -2012) and held appointments in four different state agencies, as a research analyst, budget manager, policy analyst, and technology program manager. Doug holds a B.A. in sociology/criminal justice and a M.A. in sociology/demography from Western Washington University.
