While earning her MBA in finance and strategy, Mariah worked in development and donor services at The Pittsburgh Foundation, supporting philanthropic initiatives and propelling innovative tactics for maximizing donor cultivation and fund development. Her five years of nonprofit management experience ranges from board member, to consultant, to volunteer, to staff member. Mariah has pursued specialized training in strategic planning, project management, stakeholder analysis, data analysis and visualization, and writing and editing. She has a track record of improving processes, maintaining data integrity, and empowering teams to manage results and accomplish their social impact goals. Currently at The Alford Group, Mariah helps strengthen not-for-profits through partnerships in campaign feasibility studies, campaign counsel, development assessments and strategic planning.
Jennifer Shin, Consultant, The Alford Group
Jennifer is a fundraising professional with over 12 years of managerial experience in nonprofits, focused on revenue growth, fundraising operations, direct mail and digital online marketing, donor relationship management, campaign planning and execution, and data analytics. Jennifer has repeatedly streamlined fundraising operations, created integrated fundraising strategies, trained and restructured fundraising teams, and increased donor retention rates using a data and mission-driven methodology. She has managed fundraising initiatives at both a faith-based social service agency as well as a public library foundation. She most recently served as the director of development for The Seattle Library Foundation.
