    Susan Howlett Susan Howlett has been strengthening nonprofits for over 40 years, as a volunteer, board member, development director, executive director and consultant to thousands of organizations across the continent.

    Author of two award-winning books -- Boards on Fire: Inspiring Leaders to Raise Money Joyfully, and Getting Funded: The Complete Guide to Writing Grant Proposals, Susan has also been core faculty in UW’s year-long Fundraising Certificate Program for three decades. She leads about 50 board retreats each year, and speaks weekly at regional and national conferences, known for delivering practical solutions to persistent problems with humor, stories, and chocolate.
